Denver counseling services

As one of the first counseling agencies in the nation to provide animal assisted therapy as its focus, the Animal Assisted Therapy Programs of Colorado provides a unique array of community-based counseling and psychotherapy services for clients of all ages and with a variety of mental health-related concerns.

Based on research-supported techniques of animal assisted therapy all of our professional therapists work with a trained animal partner to accomplish therapeutic goals in a cost-effective and timely manner. Our animal partners include dogs, cats, and horses.

We are centrally located in downtown Denver, have close and ample parking, and can easily be reached by public transportation. Our counselors work with you to arrange a convenient appointment time during the day, evenings or weekend. As a community resource we keep our fees below the regional average to be accessible to clients with varying financial resources.

At AATPC we continually strive to maintain the highest level of professionalism while maintaining a safe, welcoming and nurturing counseling environment. Our therapists continue to stay up to date with learning the most effective therapeutic techniques in addition to advances in animal assisted therapy.

We have developed a very unique, time-efficient and cost-effective method of therapy called "Filial Pet Therapy" where in some cases we can train parents to work at home with their children with the assistance of their own pets. Click here to read more about Filial Pet Therapy.
